Get Involved
Thank you to those who volunteer in the many aspects of our church family.
We need volunteers for leading Sunday School this fall. Training is available and materials will be supplied. The deacons or Pastor Greg can help you to be a part of this important ministry. Individuals are needed to service on a monthly basis in the area of ushering, sound, audiovisual, and preparing and cleaning up coffee. If you are interesting in assisting please talk to one of the deacons. We are also looking for a director for the weekly Tumble Time program. If you have any questions or would like to know more about serving opportunities please contact Barb Bergsma by email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or contact Pastor Greg at 667-6620 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
Guide to Worthwhile Initiative Support (WIS)
You have a worthwhile initiative you believe will have a positive affect on the life of the church, will help yourself and other members grow, or that answers your calling by God to service, outreach and mission. You’d like your church to get behind this idea, support it and help you to get it launched.
Well, that’s terrific, because the Deacons of Riverdale Baptist Church, together with the Elders and Pastor, are in the business of supporting congregants’ desires to serve, whether personally or through church programs. In fact, any one of them would be happy to talk with you and help you with the planning to support your aspirations.
If your initiative requires church resources such as facilities, equipment and/or funds, however, then we are required both by law and by our constitution to make it a church initiative, not a personal one. That means oversight by the church’s leadership together with congregational approval for the resources. To get there, we need you to outline some basic information about your initiative.
